Yowzas! Sometimes a name like “super premium” shouldn’t be ignored. After freshly brewing Mangalam Super Premium, I was uplifted by its lush, rounded high elevation woodsy aroma and perfect auburn “sunset-over-Kenya”-esque tone. Additionally, the loose leaf and spent tea leaves are pretty cute too. xD
And omg the taste… Sweet, smoky Assam Black with a charcoaly finish. Texture-wise, Mangalam Super Premium also receives top ranks from my tongue for a heavy bombardment of singed straw-like particulate concentration. I could drink this tea all day and probably be in a state of perpetual contentment (although doing so is not recommended as it will leave one in a state of blissful euphoria), but i don’t need to. The biscuity Assam curl will linger on the tongue for minutes after you take the last sip. Hands down, on all fronts, Mangalam Super Premium is the most amazing Assam Black I’ve ever had the pleasure of steeping (so far).
Oh yeah, this one costs $40.99/lb, but thankfully you needn’t buy anywhere near that much to enjoy it. Although, sorry girls, boys and other little humans, this isn’t a product you’re going to readily find online.
