They say Makaibari Estate consistently puts out Darjeeling’s very best Blacks. Let’s see how their Whites perform, shall we? As previously stated, I have omitted the word “Organic” from the title as 99.9% of teas sold at Arbor Teas are intentionally organic.
I was floored by this one of a kind Makaibari White. It’s simply ravishing.
In aroma, lush gooey peach and Pai Mutan assails the nostrils. In flavor, Makaibari Silver Tips is incredibly smooth (similar to a SFTGFOP1) and vibrant with a Tippy Black aftertaste (it doesn’t taste much like a Chinese White excepting maybe 100 Monkeys). In grit, i can taste all the individual grains flowing over my tongue (stronger even than most Silver Needle). In color, a brilliant unparalleled goldenrod. The loose leaf also offers up a very diverse spectrum of colors and curls. Delightful!
Wow. Just… wow. :)

I don’t think it’s even fair to put this tea up against other non-Chinese Whites–there’s just no contest. Although i have no idea what category it really falls under, Makaibari Estate Silver Tips easily deserves a Best in Class ranking. This is only third tea I’ve reviewed for Arbor Teas and already we have a Best in Class. o.0;; Phenomenal!
