Arbor Teas’ Bancha is kind of immaculate. Ambrosia-like? If given as tribute, Kitsune would go wild over this one. All right, so maybe those are hyperboles, but it really does impress.
In aroma, Bancha is sweet and smells of lemongrass and bamboo. In coloration, Bancha’s liquor is a delicate transparent jade. In flavor, Bancha is brisk and tangy with a slight roasted note and a kukicha aftertaste. In texture too, Bancha is grassy with a stronger fur than most Tippy Blacks. I’m also very much impressed with how bold and full Bancha’s spent leaves are and how well they unfurl in infusion. Arbor Tea’s Bancha is just an around delight. I doubt very much even the most discerning Japanese tea lover would find fault with it.
